Microsoft 365 Price Changes – Effective 1 July 2026

Microsoft has announced upcoming price adjustments to several Microsoft 365 and Office 365 subscriptions. These changes are based on updated USD list pricing and will take effect at your next renewal on or after 1 July 2026List pricing on our portal will update closer to the July 1st milestone. 

The changes will apply globally with local market adjustments for Microsoft commercial products, and nonprofit pricing will be adjusted in line with commercial pricing. The pricing changes are listed in percentage increases as we don't have the exact RRP market pricing in local AUD currency at the time of publishing this announcement. 

Who is affected?

  • Annual subscriptions will be impacted at renewal on or after 1 July 2026
  • Monthly subscriptions will reflect the updated pricing from July 2026
  • Microsoft Teams standalone plans are not affected

  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic – +16%
  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard – +12%
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium – No change

Enterprise Plans

  • Office 365 E3 – +13%
  • Office 365 E5 – +8%
  • Microsoft 365 E3 – +8%
  • Microsoft 365 E5 – +5%

Frontline Plans

  • Microsoft 365 F1 – up to +33%
  • Microsoft 365 F3 – up to +25%

Note: Some plans without Microsoft Teams included may see higher percentage increases.

AI for every user: Expanding Copilot capabilities

Microsoft continues to integrate Copilot more deeply into the Microsoft 365 experience:

  • Copilot Chat is now available to all Microsoft 365 users, delivering a secure AI chat experience designed for work.
  • A unified, in-app Copilot Chat experience is rolling out across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, keeping AI assistance directly in the flow of work.
  • New enhancements announced at Ignite 2025 include:
    • Inbox and calendar understanding
    • Access to Agent Mode in Copilot Chat and Office apps
    • Tools to help IT admins manage, govern, and measure Copilot usage

These innovations help teams collaborate, create and automate in new, innovative ways.

Strengthened protection against modern threats

Microsoft is broadening access to advanced security protections, with a focus across email and collaboration platforms.

  • Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 email security will be added to Office 365 E3 and Microsoft 365 E3, providing expanded phishing and malware defense.
  • URL link checks, which block known malicious sites, will be included in:
    • Office 365 E1
    • Microsoft 365 Business Basic
    • Microsoft 365 Business Standard

This ensures smaller companies gain stronger baseline security without upgrading their entire licensing stack.

Enhanced endpoint management for IT teams

Microsoft is bringing more advanced device and endpoint management tools into core suites:

Coming to Microsoft 365 E3 and E5:

  • Microsoft Intune Remote help
  • Intune Advanced Analytics
  • Intune Plan 2

Additional E5 Enhancements:

  • Endpoint Privilege Management
  • Enterprise Application Management
  • Microsoft Cloud PKI

These capabilities allow IT teams to troubleshoot faster, detect issues proactively and better secure growing fleets of devices, which is critical for modern AI-enabled environments.

Security Copilot for Microsoft 365 E5

Microsoft is also expanding the reach of its security AI assistant:

  • Security Copilot, with over 70+ built-in agents across Defender, Intune, Entra, Purview, and partner tools, will soon be included for all Microsoft 365 E5 customers.
  • Existing Security Copilot customers with M365 E5 can access it today.
  • All E5 tenants will receive a 30‑day advance activation notice as the rollout continues.

This brings powerful, AI-driven detection, investigation and response capabilities directly into security teams’ workflows.

What should you do?

  • Review your Microsoft 365 subscriptions ahead of your renewal date
  • Consider annual billing for price stability
  • Evaluate plan changes or optimisations where appropriate
